Stellah Onyancha
Ms. Stellah Onyancha is the Acting Registrar, East African Community Competition Authority. Prior to joining EAC Competition Authority, Stellah worked for COMESA Competition Commission as Director, Enforcement and Exemptions, and Acting Director, Mergers and Acquisitions where she spearheaded investigations and effective enforcement of cross border infractions and mergers and acquisitions. Stellah, prior to joining the COMESA Competition Commission also worked for the Competition Authority of Kenya in various positions, the last position being, Director, Competition and Consumer Protection where she provided strategic leadership on Competition and Consumer protection which contributed to the Authority achieving its mandate relating to enforcement of competition, regulation of mergers and consumer protection.
Stellah is a holder of Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management (University of Ghana, Legon) and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) in Economics and Business Studies (Kenyatta University); She holds various certificates in Competition Policy and Law, Strategic Leadership Development Programme and Senior Management Course from the Kenya School of Government.
Stellah, while at COMESA participated in the comprehensive review of the COMESA Competition Regulations and COMESA Competition Rules and proposed amendments aimed at deepening enforcement at the regional level. During her tenure with CAK, Stellah was part of the National Treasury Steering Committee on the Regional Integration Implementation Programme where she spearheaded the implementation of the Competition Authority of Kenya’s regional integration activities. She was also involved in the development, negotiation and implementation of the Performance contract for the Competition Authority of Kenya for four consecutive years.
